MoS for External Affairs General (Retired) VK Singh

Gurgaon, Aug 26: Minister of State for External Affairs General (Retired) VK Singh said that he has full faith that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon implement One Rank, One Pension (OROP) scheme.

Singh told the media here on Wednesday: “Prime Minister has said that he has taken oath under our national flag that OROP will be implemented. So, I am sure OROP will soon come into practice.”

Congress leader and actor Raj Babbar lashed out at the BJP-led NDA government for its insensitivity towards One Rank, One pension (OROP) issue, saying it should take ex-servicemen seriously.

Babbar said:”government is somehow displaying its insensitivity and they should take the demands of army men seriously.”

OROP scheme has been a long-standing demand of nearly three-million ex-servicemen and war widows in the country.

It seeks to ensure that a uniform pension is paid to defence personnel, who retire at the same rank with the same length of service irrespective of their date of retirement.
