PM Modi congratulates successful UPSC aspirants, as they begin journey `to serve the nation`

New Delhi, July 4: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to the successful aspirants of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil service exams.

The Prime Minister took to twitter to share his message. He posted: “Congratulations to all those who successfully cleared the Civil Services Exam & my best wishes as you begin the journey to serve the nation.”

The Prime Minister further posted: “To those who didn’t clear the exam- such moments are a part of life. This must not deter you from your future endeavours. My best wishes.”

A total of 1,236 candidates have been recommended for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and central services in the results announced on Saturday afternoon. A total of 254 candidates have also been kept in a consolidated reserved list.

Candidate Ira Singhal topped the examination, with Renu Raj and Nidhi Gupta coming second and third.

Ira and Nidhi, who hail from Delhi, are Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise) officers whereas, Renu Raj is a doctor by profession. She hails from Kerala.
