Kolkata, Nov 21: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Saturday said the Patanjali Ayurved has not violated any law of the FSSAI and his organisation will respond legally to the notice once they receive it.
Ramdev said: “Patanjali Ayurved has not violated any law of the FSSAI. Patanjali has so far followed all the guidelines of the FSSAI and we will follow the guidelines which will be made in the future.”
He said: “The companies which are making noodles have the license. Pasta, noodles, vermicelli fall in the same category following the guideline of the FSSAI. We will send the report in five days.”
Earlier, the FSSAI had objected to Patanjali releasing its noodles saying that the later did not have necessary licenses to sell such products in the market.
Under fire for not having the ‘safety approval’ from the the Food Safety and Regulatory Authority of India (FSSAI), the Patanjali brand had earlier claimed that ‘misleading information’ was being spread as said that they have not committed any violation and have the evidence to prove the same.
“We have followed all the rules of the FSSAI and have not violated any of their terms. In context with misleading news published today in newspapers regarding Patanjali Atta Noodles, we categorically state that we have followed all FSSAI rules and guidelines and committed no violation,” SK Tijarawala, the brand spokesman, said in a statement.
The statement also provided copies of the relabeling license and the FSSAI notification as evidence backing their claim.
