Shah Rukh`s `Happy New Year` makes a place in the Oscar Library


New Delhi, Nov 17: After turning out to be the highest grosser of this year with an earning of whopping Rs 350 cr worldwide, ‘Happy New Year’ has got another reason to rejoice.

The director of this comedy flick, Farah Khan has tweeted that the script of SRK and Deepika starrer `HNY` has reached the Oscar’s library. She also thanked the writers for the success of the movie.

“1 more reason 2 celebrate!! #HNY script goes to the Oscar library!! Bigg kiss to my co-writers @mayurpuri n Althea k,” tweeted Farah on Monday.

The Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has officially selected the screenplay of ‘HNY’ for its permanent Core Collection. Following this honour, the Oscar library will add the screenplay which is accessible to students, filmmakers, writers, actors and others from the field of cinema, for the purpose of research.

Reportedly, HNY is not the first film starring Shah Rukh Khan to make it to the collection. Earlier movies of SRK- ‘Devdas’ (2002) and ‘Chak De! India’ (2007) were also selected for the Oscar Library.

Written by Farah, Althea Kaushal and Mayur Puri, HNY is running strong at the Box-Office in its fourth week at Box Office. Along with Deepika and Shah Rukh the film also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.
