Sheila Dikshit denies reports of campaigning for Congress in Delhi elections

Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit

New Delhi, Dec 31: Senior Congress leader and former chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday denied reports of campaigning for the Congress in the Delhi Assembly elections, saying she would be keeping away from active politics.

Former chief minister said: “My new year resolution is to keep away from active politics and to do things I wanted to do personally. I hope to be able to write a history of Delhi spanning from the past fifteen years.”

Sheila said that she had no hopes from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal in the upcoming Delhi assembly polls.

She said: “He keeps talking of what he achieved in 49 days I don’t think he was really able to achieve anything. A leader who runs away cannot be trusted again.”

Earlier, it was reported that she would be campaigning for her party in the Delhi Assembly elections, which is set to take place in the early months of 2015.

Delhi has been under President’s Rule since February after Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government stepped down after 49 days in power.
