London, Oct 12: Taylor Swift has been named Billboard Woman of the Year 2014 which makes her the first artist to receive the award twice.
Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media’s Entertainment Group, which includes Billboard, said that as one of the most influential artists of her generation, Swift had seen incredible success on the Billboard charts, said a BBC report.
The Grammy Award winning singer will receive the prize at the Billboard Women in Music award ceremony in December in New York.
Previous winners of the award include Pink, Beyonce and Katy Perry.
Taylor Swift, who has been doing interviews in preparation of her upcoming album 1989, recently visited with the The Graham Norton Show and shared about her recent fan visits that she has been doing.
The singer has reportedly been giving a special group of fans an exclusive chance to visit her house(s) and hang out and listen to the new album.
Taylor also announced the big news that she is releasing a new album and it will be titled 1989, a report on hallels.com said. She revealed the album art as well, and also admitted that she loves polaroid cameras and the ‘tangible’ feel that they give. Her album cover was from one of those polaroid cameras, the report said.
She shared that the reason for the title was that it is her birth date (December 13, 1989) but also that she likes to have two years in between albums to see her growth.
The hallels report added that her new album would be her first full on pop album inspired from the music of the 80’s that Taylor has been listening to.
