New Delhi, July 23: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered an FIR against 52 accused persons in the Vyapam
scam. It had earlier registered 12 FIR and five preliminary inquiries into the case.
The preliminary inquiries had been registered in Pre-Medical Test 2010, Pre-Post Graduation Medical Examination 2011,
irregularities in Pre-Medical Test 2009 and 2010, Forest Guard Recruitment in 2013 and Pre-Medical Test 2011.
The CBI had constituted a special team of 40 officers, headed by a Joint Director level officer, to probe the scam.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had transferred all cases relating to the Vyapam scam to the CBI.
Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh Assembly was adjourned sine die following an uproar by the opposition over Vyapam scam on Wednesday.
The BJP veteran, Shanta Kumar, who has written to party chief minister Amit Shah stating that the Vyapam scam has dented the NDA government’s image, said if a Central Minister has threat to his life in state that too where his government is in power then it is worrisome.
Kumar has in his stern letter written to the BJP president said the Vyapam scam has ‘made us all bow our heads in shame’.
Earlier on Wednesday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi along with party vice-president Rahul Gandhi and other leaders held a silent protest at the Gandhi Statue in Parliament over the Vyapam scam.
Senior Congress leaders also moved an adjournment motion in Parliament over the scam.
